Day 304: Halloween!

Happy Halloween from our two Star Wars kiddos!  Michal is dressed up as Rey from the new Star Wars movie that will come out in December.  Sivan was going to be Princess Leia, but the costume was a little small.  Fortunately a friend had a yoda costume that worked nicely.

Look - she's wearing her costume and NOT crying.  And I've never seen a cuter Yoda.

Sivan really got into trick or treating.  She spent the first bit in the stroller, but then she decided to join the party.  She was a little slower than the other kids but boy did she dig going up to people, waving hello, and then getting to say "bye" after they put something in her bag.  She has no idea what candy is but she LOVES meeting new people.

Day 303: Halloween Parade

Today was the Halloween Parade at the elementary school.  Super excited for this first holiday experience at school for her big sister.

Scouting out the parade route.

Cheesin' away

There she is!  Such a fun afternoon.

Day 302: Costume Win

She totally loves this costume.  She was really happy that I had her try it on.  This is going to be great.

Day 301: Wake Up Call

Michal hasn't had the best sleep lately.  It's likely because she's sick, but she goes to bed too late, occasionally wakes up in the middle of the night, and then has a hard time waking up in the morning.  Some mornings, this is Sivan's first stop after waking up.  She heads into Sissy's room and cheerfully says "Hi!"  Michal sometimes smiles back.

Day 300: Standing Tall

I mean seriously.  She looks like a teenager or something.  She's got her fake black yoga pants with her blue sneakers.  She kills me.

Happy Day 300.  65 to go!

Day 299: Blurred Vision

I don't normally include photos that are horrible out of focus.  But they were both on top of me, within a few inches, and there really wasn't any possibility of catching this in focus.  Goodness I love these two girlies.

Day 298: Imagination Stage

Michal was home sick today, so we hung out in the living room, playing with toys.  And then imagination took over.  Michal borrowed a scarf to make into the beach and pulled out some chairs.  Sivan really digs chairs, but they are all just a tad too big for her to sit in/on by herself.  I think we'll have to rectify that at some point.

Hanging at the "beach" with Donald.

Day 297: Hungry Girl

Just another lunch, managing to eat some macaroni and cheese.  She frequently insists on having her own utensils to use.  Sometimes they even work out.

Sometimes a hand is much more efficient.

What?  Do I have something on my face?

Day 296: Oy

PSA: This is NOT how your babies are supposed to sit in the shopping cart.  At least she was sitting - at one point she was standing/squatting.  Strapping her in isn't always an option - with her belly,  often the strap doesn't even reach.  And if it does, she often screams and hollers as if I am torturing her.  This is why I try to remember to bring in the carrier - sometimes wearing the kid is the only way to survive a trip to Target.

Day 295: Persistent

Someone is really interested in trying to strap herself into shopping carts.  She will sit there for whole minutes, trying to attach the buckles, figuring out how to do it herself.

But if you strap her in?  Forget it.  She will not stand to be restrained.

Day 294: Huggles

Sivan is totally into "huggles" lately - a cross between a hug and a cuddle.  It's made bedtime even sweeter than usual, and our previously not super affectionate girl has become a bit of a cuddler.  It's adorable.

Additionally, she's becoming attached to her baby doll.  I got the pair before Sivan was born - the big sister doll was a "gift" from Sivan to Michal when she was born, and Michal brought the baby sister doll to the hospital.  This is really the first time Sivan has shown any interest in her doll and it's awesome.

Day 293: More Shenanigans

I don't even know what to say about this one.  It was a crazy morning.  Michal ended up under her bed.  Sivan tried to go in after her.

Sometimes I don't know what to do with these two.

Day 291: Beat Boxing

Michal has really gotten into beat boxing lately, so I took a video of her doing her thing. This was one of the after photos. Sivan is right there, playing Alon, holding on to her doll.

What could possibly go wrong.

Day 290: Clingy

Today we headed to the farm to enjoy the fall seasonal weather and to pick out pumpkins. It was a lovely day and we had a ton of fun, except for one thing. Sivan was pretty clingy. When we went to get pumpkins, this is how far I managed to move away from her.

She's holding my finger as she inspects this pumpkin. Which she became obsessed with.

This, though, has become one of my favorite pictures. Ever.

She almost put her head in the pumpkin hole. It would have been an adorable picture. Except I moved more than an inch away. She did not approve.

Day 289: Construction

A drainage pipe in front of our house had some problems, so work has been doing over the past few days to fix the situation. Today was the day the crew worked to reinstall sidewalks for our neighbors, so we woke up to find a massive cement mixer truck in front of our house. And blocking in the car, but that is less exciting than watching the mix and pour concrete.

Day 288: Sivan in Retrograde

I guess she just felt like crawling instead of walking when we went to the elementary school to pick up Sissy. Whatever.

Day 287: A Bit of a Ham

I might have mentioned this before, but Sivan has seemingly discovered her sense of humor.

And she cracks us up.

These are a montage of faces she made at dinner tonight, all crafted to elicit it hysterical giggles from her sister.

Day 285: Eyes

Sivan has really pretty eyes. I'm not entirely sure of the color, which usually defaults you to "hazel."  They do have an amber brown core, but the outside is definitely a blue-green mix. And of course pictures don't capture them (she just won't stay still long enough for an extreme close up), but here are some goofy pictures that at least highlight her eyes.

Day 284: Playing Together

I have to say they mostly play nicely together. Mostly. Sometimes a fight for dominion over a particular toy will break out, but mainly it's like this.

Day 283: Anniversary

Today is our eleven year anniversary, so it seemed fitting to spend pet of it taking family photos with a friend. Can't wait to see them once she edits everything, but here are two cute ones she already posted.

Looks about right.

Day 282: Girl at Play

Just some images from Sivan's day.

Doing a little research while walking Michal to school.

Playing with the tunnel.

Playing some tunes.

So adventurous. I couldn't keep her from trying to climb this thing, even if this was the "slide" part.

Day 280: A Girl and her Dog

Michal goes to an after school program at her school three days a week, and one of the nicest parts of it is that every day they have "clubs" - different activities that change every month. This month, her Wednesday club is face painting.

Guess I got to bring home a puppy dog today.

Sivan obviously thinks her big sister is pretty funny.

I'm less amused by the Krazy Glue level of stickiness of the adhesive used for her nose and bushy eyebrows.

Day 279: Almost Ready

Just two sisters, getting ready for the day. Sivan loves being right there next to her sister, and Michal is perfectly okay with it.

Day 278: Simchat Torah

Tonight is Simchat Torah, so we are headed to the synagogue for an evening of dancing and music. Can't wait!

Day 277: Cuties

They're pretty cute. I think I'll keep them.

If you didn't catch it, be sure to take in the awesome shoe choice on the baby.

Day 276: Sister Sister

Just one of those Saturday's. The girls were getting along nicely, so that's the theme of today's photos.

Michal decided to help me make breakfast - pancakes. For some reason, a half-dressed Sivan had to be right near the action.

Sitting on the couch, Sivan made herself comfy. On Michal.

Love these two.

Day 275: Rainy Day

Today was the first day of rain since the start of the school year. We got to learn the different procedures the elementary school uses in inclement weather, and now we know what to do if you get to school late. Joy.

Picking up Michal after school. Sivan seems less than enthused.

Day 274: Look Ma, No Hands!

Someone was channeling Grouxho Marx today, just using a sippy cup in place of a cigar. Thankfully.

And yes, that's the remains of our sukkah you see there. There is a potential hurricane coming this weekend, and today was pretty much the only day we could take it down. Figured our neighbors would not appreciate a projectile hut in high winds.
